College Concepts

In college I worked on a wide range of design challenges, from branding to packaging to event identity. These projects gave me the space to experiment, build full systems from scratch, and explore different creative directions. Here are a couple highlights that show how I approached design early on.

Spectacolar taco bar

I developed a full brand system for a food truck, including logo, menu, packaging, mobile app screens, merchandise, and vehicle design. The concept, SpecTACOlar, combined a build-your-own taco menu with bold comic book–inspired visuals to capture an energetic, action-packed feel. This project let me explore how branding, illustration, and packaging design can work together to create a cohesive and memorable customer experience.

The logo

Inspired by comic books, the truck’s hero features Spectacolar, a masked luchador. The design integrates the truck’s name within his cape, capturing the playful, action-packed energy of the brand.

The menu

The menu emphasizes flavor over variety, offering three options in each of three categories. Comic book panels organize each item, with Spectacolar featured in the bottom right. The reverse side prominently displays the logo, reinforcing the playful brand identity.

The packaging

The packaging incorporates Spectacolar’s emblem as a repeating pattern. Blue is used consistently across containers and drinks, while boxes and bags maintain their original colors. Onomatopoeia appears on each item, enhancing the comic book feel. The bag displays front and back views of Spectacolar, with patterned sides to complete the design.

The app

For this hypothetical restaurant, I designed three app screens: loading, item selection, and item customization. I carried over the striped background from the menu to maintain a cohesive visual identity across digital and physical assets.

The merch

For merchandise, I designed a t-shirt and a sticker. The sticker features the logo as a fun keepsake and promotional piece, while the t-shirt showcases Spectacolar’s emblem on the front and the logo on the back, giving the wearer the effect of wearing the hero’s cape.

The truck

The SpecTACOlar truck is designed to be bold and eye-catching, featuring dark blue tones and Ben-Day dots. The menu is placed on the order side for easy access, while the opposite side shows Spectacolar enjoying a taco. The front and back display the emblem, logo, and restaurant name for clear branding.

crazy pet tricks festival

For a Visual Branding project, I created a hypothetical festival. The mascot, a dog jumping through a flaming ring, guided the look and feel across a logo, poster, VIP badge, lanyard, two t-shirts, mobile app screens, and a full brand guideline.

I pulled inspiration from circuses and animal shows to make the festival feel playful and approachable. Bold colors, carnival motifs, and fun details appear throughout each asset, creating a cohesive and engaging brand experience across print, digital, and wearable media.
